Week 4 Blog

Hello everyone and welcome back from break!

This week's blogs will be a two part assignment. We will be discussing different forms of businesses in class this week and we will also complete a report that will tie in your number one profession you chose a few weeks prior.

If you are behind on any work and I talked with a parent at conference, I will allow you to make those assignments up. If I did not talk to a parent, you must bring a letter from your parent signed saying that they are aware of your grade in order for you to make up work. Please remember if you are absent any days to see me for your assignments when you return to class.

Now to the Blog topic:

You all have dreams and aspirations for the future. That future includes some form of business. Depending on what type of profession you go into will determine what form of business you will be a part of or own.

For today Monday March 31, 2008 after the assignment is talked about and discussed in class you will return to your blogger and post

The profession you are interested in pursuing
The form of business that is most associated with that profession
Give 2 examples of the type of business that you would work for or own.

Example!!! Do not use or copy MY EXAMPLE!!

When I leave high school I plan to pursue a degree in Education. I want to become a Superintendent on day. I researched this field and found out that I will need at least a Masters degree and experience as a classroom teacher and principal. The type of business that I would work for would be similar to a corporation. This is because school districts are ran by the people and the superintendent works for those people. This business would employ me to make sure the students of that district get the best educational experience possible. In that way this business was created to help and educate people. Two forms of this sort of business would be Detroit Public Schools and West Bloomfield Public Schools.

Hi China,
I like the fact that you included your voting preference in your post. I would challenge you to think about one thing...... Do you want Obama to win merely because he is black or because what he stands for?
I agree it would be a great symbol for Obama or Clinton to win because it would show this country's upward appeal to change ideas. But, if these candidates to no believe in the same things you do, then they should not be voted for.

Week 3 Topic

Hello Class,

Welcome to week 3!! Many of you have been doing a great job on your post and I encourage you to keep up the good work! This week I would like to challenge you to think outside of the box.

I would like you to think about our government and what is happening with it. If you do not know what is happening within our government please go to this site and read a couple of articles http://www.foxnews.com/

Once you have finished reading or reflecting please give me a paragraph on what you think our country needs and if you think this country is ready for a women or African-American president. Also explain if it makes a difference. Why or Why not?

Week 2 Blog Assignment

Hello Class,

Last week and Monday of this week was dedicated to getting the class up and running on Google Blogger and Reader. There was a snow day on our Blogging Wednesday so we will make that assignment up today.

I see that there are still some students that have not posted an introduction on their blog site. Please make sure this is done. Also I will be posting topics for you to write on so please review them and choose one to write on or come up with your own appropriate topic!!

Remember you should be creating a post every Monday and Wednesday and commenting on two other students' posts.

Topics to write on:

Cafeteria lunches, can they be improved, should we have more variety?
Can you talk to much on cellphones?
Fashion, what's hot and what is not?
Is the Mohawk really back in style?
Study habits for good grades
Goals for after high school
What is your favorite subject in school and why?
A Chandler Park Administrator you admire and why?

All of these topics are great subjects to write on because they allow you to post your opinion and they leave room for others to comment and leave their opinion. But, feel free to come up with your own!!
